Privacy Policy

1. Your Data – What We Collect and Why

When you sign up for one of our events, we collect some basic details like your name, email, linkedin profile link, WhatsApp or phone number and payment information when relevant. Here’s why:

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to manage your event registration, meet applicable legal obligations and, where you have opted in, communicate with you about future events.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.

2. Sharing (But Only When Necessary)

We work with trusted partners to bring you the best event experience. Sometimes, we’ll need to share your details with these third parties, like partners, the venue, catering teams, or tech providers for virtual events (e.g., Zoom, Google). But don’t worry, this info is shared only when needed to ensure everything goes off without a hitch.

However, we are not responsible for how third-party platforms (such as Zoom, Google, etc.) handle or store your data. They have their own privacy policies, so we recommend reviewing those to understand how they manage your information.

3. International Data Protection Laws – We’ve Got You Covered

Whether you’re attending an event in the EEA, US, or UAE, we respect the local data privacy laws:

4. Your Rights – It’s Your Data!

Want to update, correct, or remove your information? Or maybe you’d like to opt out of our marketing communications? No problem! Just reach out to us at hello@thedragonflymajlis.com and we’ll take care of it.

Event Terms and Conditions

By attending any of our events, either in-person or online, you agree to the following terms:

1. Event Communications

We love keeping you in the loop! By signing up, you agree to receive event updates, reminders, and info about future events. If that’s not your thing, feel free to opt out at any time.

2. Smile, You’re On Camera!

We may take photos or videos at our events (both in-person and virtual), and by attending, you give us permission to use these recordings for promotional purposes. No embarrassing photos, we are all all about inspiring others and showcase the amazing people who invest in joining. If you prefer not to appear in promotional photos or videos, please let us know before the event so we can make reasonable arrangements to respect your preference.

3. Attending at Your Own Risk

While we do our best to keep things safe and secure, we are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or losses you might experience during an event unless it’s caused by our negligence or misconduct.

For virtual events, we’re not liable for any connectivity issues on your end. Make sure your internet is stable so you don’t miss out!

4. Third-Party Services

We often work with third-party platforms like Zoom and Google for online events and other partners to maximize the value to you. While we do our best to select reputable partners, We are not responsible for how these companies handle your data. They have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

5. Event Access and Behavior

We want everyone to have a great time, so we reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone from an event or communication platform (in-person or virtual) for disruptive or inappropriate behavior. Let’s all keep it positive and respectful!

6. Etiquette

For events, you agree to be professional and courteous in all interactions. Whether it's through chat rooms, video calls, or (virtual) networking, be kind and respectful. If there’s any inappropriate behavior, we may have to remove you from the event, virtually, of course!

7. Your Credentials are Personal

If you’re attending an online event, any login details or access codes provided are for your use only. Please don’t share them, sharing isn’t always caring! We’re not responsible for any unauthorized access caused by shared credentials.

8. Non-Transferable Invitations

Your event invitation is personal and non-transferable unless mentioned otherwise. If something comes up and you can’t make it, we’ll miss you! But unfortunately, you can’t give your invite to someone else without permission.
